1,162 flight cancellations and delays hit major Chinese airports today, inluding Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (260 delays, 6 cancellations), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (236 delays, 11 cancellations), Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (136 delays, 7 cancellations), Kunming Changshui International Airport (105 delays, 6 cancellations), Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (98 delays, 23 cancellations), Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (79 delays, 17 cancellations), Beijing Capital International Airport (74 delays, 31 cancellations), and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (59 delays, 14 cancellations).Affected airlines included Air China (60 cancellations, 109 delays), China Eastern (45 cancellations, 198 delays), Shanghai Airlines (12 cancellations, 76 delays), Shenzhen Airlines (9 cancellations, 102 delays), and Hainan Airlines (2 cancellations, 72 delays). Popular carriers that also faced notable disruption but were not among the worst affected included China Southern Airlines, XiamenAir, Juneyao Airlines, Spring Airlines, SF Airlines, Cathay Pacific, All Nippon Airways, Air France, KLM, and Turkish Airlines.
With 260 delays and 6 cancellations, Shenzhen Bao’an was the most delay-heavy airport, driven largely by domestic carrier congestion.
Pudong recorded 236 delays and 11 cancellations, reflecting widespread disruption across both domestic and international services.
Guangzhou Baiyun logged 136 delays and 7 cancellations, with delays concentrated among major Chinese carriers.
Kunming Changshui saw 105 delays and 6 cancellations, heavily impacting regional and domestic routes.
Chengdu Tianfu reported 98 delays and 23 cancellations, placing it among the airports with the highest cancellation counts.
Hangzhou Xiaoshan recorded 79 delays and 17 cancellations, affecting a mix of full-service and low-cost carriers.
Beijing Capital logged 74 delays and 31 cancellations, making it the most cancellation-affected airport in the dataset.
Hongqiao experienced 59 delays and 14 cancellations, primarily on short-haul domestic routes.
