Camira is a quiet tree-filled suburb between Springfield and Carole Park. Many of our children's parents grew up in Camira and choose to live here because they still love the area. Our kindergarten has a strong sense of ownership in our community and excellent relationships with Ipswich City Council and our local state and private schools. It is extremely well-resourced as parents have raised money over the years through fundraising to purchase equipment and additions to the building. Our grounds are surrounded by native trees and have plenty of natural grassed areas on which to play. We also have a tropical garden to attract frogs, vegetable gardens and cut-flower gardens. There are places to run and climb, and places to sit quietly and think, paint, read or draw. There are plenty of places with natural materials to explore- a sandpit, mud patch with rocks and a river, gardens, and a shed which contains open-ended equipment which can be used in many ways, such as cushions, curtains, ropes, chairs, wheelbarrows, ladders, cooking items and much more. We use the Building waterfalls curriculum which is a play-based curriculum. The children document what they are learning on digital portfolios and in displays on noticeboards around the kindy room.
