Gidgillys is owned and licensed by two local families. The centre was opened in July 2006, with the licensees’ vision being to give the children of Jindabyne the best start in life; in other words, to have the opportunity to attend a high quality child care service.

The centre is a purpose built, with four separate, age-specific rooms and two outdoor play areas.

The Director of Gidgillys, Emma Smith, is a highly qualified and experienced professional whose knowledge about and empathy for children, and the expectations of their parents, is extensive.

Each member of the Gidgillys staff team is enriched with a wealth of experience and a range of qualifications including University degrees, Diplomas in Children’s Services, and the Certificate 3 in Children’s Services. Those who are not already qualified are currently enrolled in a child care course.

Gidgillys is committed to meeting the National Quality Standard set down by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority. This standard is a benchmark for the quality of education and care services nationwide.
